Montessori arrived in Indianapolis Public Schools in the 1980s. It started with two classrooms within a traditional school, and it has grown to now be in 4 stand-alone buildings. Join us as we look back at the hills and valleys of the growth journey, including where we are now and our work creating district-supported Montessori curriculum maps and teacher resources.

Kathryn Lause is the principal and lead learner at Rousseau McClellan Montessori School 91, a PreK-5th grade community, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She also serves on the United Montessori Schools of Indiana board as their treasurer.

Christine Rembert

Indianapolis Public Schools

Christine Rembert is the principal and lead learner at James Russell Lowell Montessori School 51, a PreK-5th grade community, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She also serves on the advisory board for the Authentic Institute of Montessori (AIM).
