About me
With over 15 years of experience in the education sector, Tunisha is a passionate educator with expertise in literacy and mathematics. She holds a Montessori Credentials for Early Childhood and Elementary and a Colorado Teaching License. Tunisha is an assistant Instructor for the AMS Reading Certificate Program. Her mission is to provide high-quality, individualized, and culturally responsive instruction to diverse learners, and to support and empower other educators in their professional growth and development.
As a Reading Interventionist and a Montessori Senior Team Lead at Denver Public Schools, she works with students in both the Montessori and Traditional Programs at Lincoln Elementary School, helping them improve their reading skills and achieve academic goals. Tunisha also coaches, evaluates, and mentors Primary and Lower Elementary Montessori Guides, ensuring that they deliver effective and engaging Montessori instruction that meets the standards and expectations of the district and the state. Additionally, she serves as the President of the Board of Directors at the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies, where Tunisha also teaches an EC Math course. She is an MPPI Board Member. In these roles, she collaborates with other board members, instructors, and staff to promote and advance Montessori education at the regional and national levels, and to provide high-quality training and professional development opportunities to aspiring and practicing Montessori teachers.
